Bahar Rahnama, PsyD
Dr. Bahar Rahnama is a clinical psychologist specializing in early childhood, transitional-aged youth, and family mental health with a subspecialty in positive parenting strategies. Dr. Rahnama integrates ethnocultural variables in her assessment of child-rearing practices and incorporates these factors in her work with families, including Parent Child-Interaction Therapy (PCIT), an evidence-based model that meticulously targets disruptive behaviors in children between the ages of two and seven while enhancing a healing bond between caregiver and child. She also specializes in treating children and teens with selective mutism, anxiety, and behavior dysregulation using evidence-based practices.
Dr. Bahar Rahnama obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), Doctor of Clinical Psychology degree at the APA-accredited California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University, Los Angeles (CSPP-LA), and completed her predoctoral clinical psychology internship at the Violence Intervention Program Community Mental Health Center (VIP-CMHC).
Dr. Rahnama loves all things Harry Potter and spends her free time binging comedies with her husband or reading psychological thrillers on her Kindle.
